How to prepare for a female empowerment retreat

Last year I had the pleasure and the privilege to provide emotional support as a team member at a Female Empowerment retreat organised by a best-selling author, performer and content creator Tova Leigh. I am delighted to be part of the team again at the upcoming retreat in the Algarve, from 14th to 19th April.

Tova is a passionate supporter of women and she does not shy away for bringing up important topics around womanhood, motherhood and relationships. Together with a team of professionals, we created a safe space for women to step away from their everyday lives, to relax and recharge, and to embrace the power of female support.

If you're thinking about attending the next retreat, here are a few things you can do to prepare:

1. Choose the right retreat for you

There are many different retreats available, so it's important to find one that's a good fit for your needs and interests. Some things to consider include the location, the type of activities offered, and the price. Many retreats are dry or vegan, so make sure you are happy with what is on offer.

2. Set your intention

What do you hope to get out of the retreat? What are your goals? Do you want to relax, learn new skills or maybe make new friends? Once you have clarity around your expectations, it is easier to choose a retreat that is likely to be a good fit.

3. Plan ahead

Avoid last-minute stress by making your travel plans and packing early. Remember to bring comfortable clothes and shoes, as many activities involve movement. You may also want to bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, a hat and a book to enjoy in your free time, if your retreat is taking place near the beach or a pool.

4. Be open to new experiences

Come with an open heart and mind and be prepared to do things differently. Stepping outside of your comfort zone is a great way to enhance your self-awareness. If you’re finding it tricky at first, use the emotional support available – the team are there to help.

5. Bring a notepad and pen

Writing down your thoughts and feelings during the retreat is a great way to process. You may also find that your creativity surges, so pen and paper may come handy for writing down some of your new ideas or plans.

I hope these tips are helpful and if you’re feeling ready, remember to check out the next Female Empowerment retreat in Portugal. Let’s meet in the beautiful Algarve!
