Hello, I'm Alicja.
I am an integrative therapist with a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a MSc in Clinical Psychology and a Brainspotting Practitioner. In my clinical work I use a unique blend of person centred talk and creative therapy with brain-based BSP approach, which utilises points in the client's visual field to access unprocessed material in the subcortical brain and to help regulate their nervous system.

Left-Brain and Right-Brain In Therapy.
The human brain is an incredibly complex organ within the nervous system. The left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for rational, logical and abstract cognition and the conscious linguistic self. The right hemisphere is associated with the physical and emotional self. Strong feelings activate the right brain and the limbic system - in that sense emotions are 'felt' in the body. Each hemisphere is stimulated in a different way. For example, talking therapy and mental exercises engage more the left brain whereas Brainspotting therapy works with the right brain. Findings in neuroscience indicate that the integration of both right- and left-brain processing is important for effective psychotherapy.
